Since centipedes aren't actually insects I'm going to nominate the earwig as the creepiest of creepy ass insects (in the continental U.S.). Disclaimer added because damn rainforest, you scary.

Yep. Spiders and scorpions and all kinds of gross flying things I can handle. Centipedes? Nuke the planet.

I have a can of black Rustoleum in the basement that I haven't moved for 3 months because I'm scared the centipede I trapped under it is still alive ._.

I had to buy a new one to complete the project....

Chances are it's dead. But it's a centipede and they survived what ever killed the dinosaurs so it could survive nuclear war...

It's not all bad. If professional shoe-throwing ever becomes a thing I'll be able to stun the world with my accuracy.

I have one question, well maybe 2. What the fuck is that, and what evil fucked place do you live?

It's a house centipede . They live throughout North America and like cool, damp places. Ergo the basement of a 100 year old house in Massachusetts is perfection to them

Normally bugs and bug like things don't bother me but them are scurry. Also now I don't know if I want to go into the dirt floored basement of my 114 y/o NY house.

Careful. Keep them waiting too long and they might decide to just come upstairs to find you.
